At a glance

  • What you get: a non-exclusive, per-seat licence to install and run FleetMouse on machines you own or are authorised to operate. You do not buy the software.
  • What a seat is: one activation of one machine. With one seat, that machine can be driven by an AI assistant you attach. Pairing two machines is not a seat check. Spanning and peer tools need a seat on each machine that takes part.
  • What you represent: you may operate every machine you install on or pair. You are responsible for every action on a paired machine — by an assistant you attached, or by a person spanning from another desk. The operating system treats those actions as the signed-in user.
  • What we are not: we are not the AI. We do not receive your screen, keystrokes, or clipboard. The password-window filter, Disarm, the activity log, and the rate limit bound the tools. They are not a warranty that secrets cannot be seen or typed.

1

The agreement

This End-User Licence Agreement (the “Agreement”) is a contract between you and Dreamodus Software Inc. (“Dreamodus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a corporation incorporated in British Columbia, Canada, for the software we publish as FleetMouse (the “Software”).

You accept this Agreement by doing any of the following: clicking or tapping a control that says you agree when this text is presented at first run; activating a licence key; or using the Software after this text has been presented to you. If you do not agree, do not install, activate, or use the Software. Electronic acceptance is intended to satisfy British Columbia’s Electronic Transactions Act and the equivalent electronic-commerce statutes of other provinces.

If you accept for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. “You” then means that organization, and the people it authorises to install or run the Software.

This Agreement is presented at first run of the manager. There is no installer licence page. The manager’s About screen can open the same text again. Agreeing records which text was accepted, when, the language, and that it was this copy.

There is one Agreement today. Organizations and individuals are not sold under different legal products. The definition of a seat does not change either way.

3

Defined terms

These words have the meanings below. Other terms are defined where they first appear.

  • “Software” means FleetMouse as we supply it: the manager application, the local control surface an assistant can call, pairing, spanning, and the documentation we ship with that build. It includes maintenance releases of the same major version. It does not include a later major version, which is a new licence (section 13.4).
  • “Seat” means one activation of one machine, as section 5 uses the word.
  • “Licence key” means the secret that identifies a fleet. Holders of the same key share that fleet’s seats. The key is a fleet-wide secret. Anyone who has it can see and release seats on that fleet.
  • “Assistant” means an AI client you choose and attach to a copy of the Software. We are not that client, hosted or local.
  • “Pairing” means the owner’s local act of authorising one machine to talk to another. Pairing is not a seat check.
  • “Spanning” means using one computer’s pointing device and keyboard on another paired machine, after a separate local consent. Spanning is a two-or-more-seat use.
  • “Private network” means ordinary private addressing. Carrier-grade NAT and Tailscale-class 100.64/10 addresses are not treated as private, and the Software refuses them. A site-to-site VPN that still looks like ordinary private addressing would pass the address check; the pairing pin is then the real authentication. The Software is not described as working on any VPN.

4

The licence grant

Subject to this Agreement and to a valid licence (trial, complimentary beta, or paid), we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to install and run the Software on as many machines as you have seats, solely on machines you own or are authorised to operate, and solely for the uses described in this Agreement.

The Software is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors retain all right, title, and interest in the Software. No right is granted except the licence in this section. You do not receive source code.

You may make one backup copy of the installer for your own use. You may not distribute that copy.

5

Seats

One seat is one activation of one machine. With one seat, the licensed use is an AI assistant driving that machine, and only that machine. The manager still launches without an assistant attached, but that seat does no work until one is — so for a one-seat licence the assistant is required in that sense. An assistant does not add a seat. Several clients may be attached to one seated machine; they still share that one seat.

Pairing is not licence-gated. A machine can pair with one seat, or with none. Pairing with one seat does no useful work: spanning and the peer tools then fail on any machine that does not hold a seat.

Spanning and the peer tools need a seat on each machine that takes part. Spanning needs at least two seated machines. You may span across as many seated peers as are paired to the driving machine. The Peers and Spanning pages stay visible with one seat so you can see what a second seat unlocks; pairing itself still works. Do not read one seat as covering peers or spanning.

Trial and beta licences are issued per fleet (one key, several seats), not per person. Releasing a seat on one machine does not delete the fleet’s licence row.

A seat is bound to a licensing identity minted on that machine, not to the computer’s hostname. If you delete the product’s local data without a successful seat release, the next activation is a new machine and uses another seat, even when the name matches. You can release the leftover seat from Account.

The licence key is a fleet-wide secret. You must keep it confidential and not share it except with people you authorise to administer that fleet. Anyone who has the key can see and release seats on that fleet. If you know or suspect the key has leaked, tell us promptly at info@dreamodus.software.

6

Authorised machines, and what you represent

You represent, and it is a condition of the licence, that:

  • you own, or are authorised to operate, every machine on which you install the Software;
  • when you pair two machines, you are authorised to control both;
  • when you turn spanning on, you are authorised to send input to the machine that will receive it;
  • if other people use a machine you have installed on — employees, contractors, family, anyone at that desk — you have the right to let the Software operate that machine as the signed-in user, including unattended; you have obtained any consent those people must give; and you have given any notice the law requires (workplace monitoring, interception of communications, or the fact that an unattended assistant or a person at another desk can see the screen and type as the signed-in user).

Pairing is designed as a person at both desks: a short code that never crosses the network. A by-hand fingerprint path exists for scripted setup and does not use a PIN. Either path is your representation that you may control both machines. We do not independently verify that representation.

The Software is intended to run unattended. When nobody is at the machine it can see the screen and type as the signed-in user. That is the point of the tool. You are responsible for who can reach a paired machine and for what is visible on it.

The Software is not directed at children.

7

Pairing and spanning

Pairing answers “who may talk to this machine.” It is one-way: machine A may drive machine B without B driving A. The same two machines cannot be paired both ways. One machine may be paired with many others. Pairing works across Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Spanning consent is a second, local representation, about input. After that consent, the pointer can leave the edge of one screen and appear on the next machine. Keys typed while control is there go to that machine. Clipboard text can follow (on by default; you can turn it off).

Spanning sends pointer, keys, optional clipboard text, and one file. Clipboard text is sent in pieces up to 16 MiB; above that the copy is refused and you are told — it is never silently shortened. One file copies under the same rules as the assistant file copy (256 MiB, refuse rather than half-copy). Not drag-and-drop. Not images or HTML. Crossing the pointer does not wait on the copy. Spanning does not capture that machine’s screen.

Human spanning does not use the assistant gates in section 11 (password-window filter, assistant rate limit, assistant Disarm). The two kill switches are separate: stopping the assistant does not stop spanning, and stopping spanning does not stop the assistant.

Dreamodus does not run a cloud in the path between your machines. Traffic between paired machines stays on the private network. There is no company account required for pairing.

8

We are not the AI

Hosted or local, Dreamodus is not the model. You choose the client and you attach it. You accept that a model can act wrongly — including a frontier model, and especially a weak local model used to drive input.

A hosted assistant you attach is a third-party vendor. That vendor may receive screenshots or text its client sent. We do not receive that stream. We are not liable for what that vendor does with it, or for what a local model does on your machine.

A local model keeps that stream on your equipment. It can still mis-click, over-type, or miss a stop. That risk sits with you. The Software’s answer is not “the model is safe.” It is the limits in section 11, which bound the tools. They do not make the model competent. They do not apply to human spanning.

We do not recommend a model in this Agreement. When you attach an assistant, the manager warns: a hosted assistant may send screenshots, window text, and tool results off the machine under that vendor’s policy; a local model keeps that stream on your equipment. Dreamodus is not the model either way.

9

What you must not do

You must not, and must not allow anyone else to:

  • install or run the Software on a machine you are not authorised to operate;
  • use the Software for unauthorised access or covert monitoring;
  • expose the pairing or spanning path past the private-network design — including by port-forwarding those doors to the public internet. The Software refuses public source addresses even if someone forwards the port. You must not forward around that refusal;
  • circumvent licence, seat, pairing, or safety gates, or the address check in the definition of private network;
  • copy, distribute, rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, or publicly perform the Software, except for the backup copy in section 4;
  • modify, translate, or create derivative works of the Software, except to the extent the Copyright Act (Canada) permits a licensed user to do so for compatibility or interoperability, or another mandatory law so requires;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent the Copyright Act (Canada) sections 30.6 and 30.61 (and the interoperability / repair exceptions for technological protection measures) or another mandatory law so requires;
  • remove or obscure proprietary notices;
  • use the Software in violation of export or sanctions law (section 21).

Mandatory statutory rights are not affected. A restriction in this section that a court will not enforce is read down, not used to void the rest of the Agreement.

10

Who is responsible for what happens on the machine

You are responsible for every action on a machine where the Software is installed or to which it is paired: actions by an assistant you attached, and human spanning from another desk. The operating system treats those actions as the signed-in user. It does not label them “done by an assistant” or “done from another computer.”

Acting on a control by identity (invoke a button, set a field) is not a synthetic mouse click, but it still runs as that user.

On Windows only, and only when you have put that copy in standing-authority mode: the Software can start a listed program with administrator rights through a scheduled task you set up in person. That is the only capability that starts a new process. An empty allowlist with enforcement on (the default) means nothing may launch. Linux and macOS always refuse. You accepted that path if you turned it on.

You are responsible for the acts and omissions of everyone you allow to use your licence, your machines, or a paired desk, as if they were yours.

11

Safety limits are not a warranty

The Software includes limits. They are real. They are not a promise that secrets cannot be seen or typed, that a model is competent, or that a lost machine cannot still drive a pair.

11.1 What can stop an assistant

  • You can stop assistant input on this machine from the app (Arm / Disarm). Disarm is the kill switch. On Linux there is also a root-owned system kill switch the app cannot delete. Windows has no equivalent of that root file.
  • Spanning has a separate kill switch. Stopping one does not stop the other.
  • A paired machine that is allowed to drive this one can stop assistant input here. It cannot start it again, and it cannot engage spanning’s kill switch from that path. Re-arm needs a person at this machine.
  • Assistant input is capped at about 120 actions per minute by default. Refusals do not count. Human spanning has no such cap.
  • Default process mode is safe: input allowed, password-window filter on. Readonly refuses input; looking still works. A token can only narrow that mode, never widen it.

11.2 What the filter does not guarantee

  • The password-window filter is best-effort. It looks at the front window’s title and the name of the program. Typical hits: password managers, Windows’ administrator prompt, bank sign-in titles, Linux privilege prompts, this app itself.
  • It will miss a browser that is already signed in, a vault that is already unlocked, a terminal that still has privileges, and an in-page login whose window title is just the browser’s. A title that merely contains the word “certificate” is currently blocked too — including ordinary documentation.
  • If the desktop cannot name the front window, input is refused rather than sent blind.
  • Screenshots capture whatever is on screen, including secrets that are visible. A screenshot cache is written on that machine (every successful capture) and pruned locally; we do not receive those files. A hosted assistant may receive the pixels anyway.
  • On some Linux setups an optional kernel helper injects the pointer below the desktop. That helper cannot see which window is in front. The window filter still runs in the unprivileged app. The helper is not a stronger filter.

An optional “confirm every click” behaviour exists as an environment flag, not an in-app checkbox. Windows can show a dialog. Linux can if a standard desktop dialog tool is installed. macOS has no such dialog: turning the flag on there refuses all input. It is not a shipping in-app control.

12

Lost machine, reboot, and what we can and cannot stop

  • A lost or stolen machine that is still paired can still drive or be driven until forgotten on the other side or taken off a reachable private network. We have no remote un-pair.
  • After a reboot, pairing remains. Incoming control does not resume unless you ticked start accepting at the next launch. That box defaults off.
  • Licence revocation or an expired trial stops the tools and spanning, not the pairing records, and only once that machine next talks to us. We cannot push a stop to an offline machine.
  • A commercial refusal is checked after the safety gates, so a disarmed machine still reads as disarmed, not as “the trial ended.”
  • Clock rollback is a warning, never a stop. A stop must never strand the keyboard. The manager still launches after a commercial stop.

13

Trial, paid licences, and major versions

13.1 Trial and complimentary beta

A trial or a complimentary time-limited key (beta) lets you run the Software until that key’s expiry. When it expires, the tools and spanning stop. The manager still launches. A missing key on a fresh install also stops the tools and spanning.

The live trial default is configurable. It is not a published offer. Public trial is not offered from Account; an unlicensed copy is enter the key from your purchase, or a key we issued for beta.

13.2 Paid seats

A paid seat has no function end-date. The tools gate never reads the “updates through” field that may appear in the signed licence file and on Account. Do not read that date as “the licence expires after a year.” A build past that window keeps running.

13.3 What a commercial stop is not

An expired trial, a revoked key, or a missing key stops the tools and spanning. It does not uninstall the Software. It does not delete pairing records. It does not strand the keyboard.

13.4 A new major version is a new licence

A new major version is a new licence / new SKU. It is not included in the prior purchase. Do not read this Agreement as “buy once, every future major is included.” Existing holders may be offered that SKU at a discount; the amount is not a published offer. That commercial shape is separate from the paid “updates through” date, which is a notice rather than a stop.

14

Updates

We may offer a newer build of the same major version. Installing it is optional. We do not silently replace the Software. A paid seat does not stop when an “updates through” window lapses.

15

Uninstall

To clear a copy, use the in-app Remove all my data, then the operating-system uninstaller. That button clears this copy. It is not uninstall. It is not a request that we delete you from the licence database.

In order, the button: tries to release this machine’s seat while the licensing identity still exists (a network failure never blocks the rest); forgets pairing on this machine; removes access tokens; deletes the local data folders, including the screenshot cache; removes the start-at-login entry; and revokes the operating-system grants this copy used. Seat release is attempted first. The far machine keeps its pairing record. The Linux kernel input helper is not uninstalled. Firewall rules stay unless you tick that box. If that release did not succeed, the leftover seat stays held until released from Account — on this machine after it activates under the new identity, or on any other machine that holds the key.

Ordinary uninstall is not a substitute — especially on macOS, which has no uninstall hook. A Linux package uninstall leaves per-user home-folder state. A Windows uninstall is not a substitute for this button.

16

Third-party components

The Software includes components published by other people, used under their own licences. Those licences are catalogued in the notices file that ships with the Software. If there is a conflict between this Agreement and a third-party licence as it applies to that component, the third-party licence governs that component. Nothing in this Agreement purports to alter those terms.

17

Intellectual property

FleetMouse, the FleetMouse name and marks, and the Software are our property or that of our licensors. This Agreement does not transfer them. You may not use our marks except as needed to describe an ordinary, truthful use of the Software.

If you send us feedback, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to use it without restriction or obligation to you. Feedback is not confidential.

We will defend you against a third-party claim that the Software as we supplied it infringes a copyright or patent, and pay damages finally awarded (or a settlement we approve). We may, at our option: obtain the right for you to keep using it; replace or modify it so it is no longer claimed to infringe; or terminate the licence for the affected copies and refund the amount you paid us for those seats. This is the exclusive remedy for such a claim, except as section 19.1 preserves. It does not apply to the extent the claim arises from your combination of the Software with something we did not supply, a modification you made, an assistant you attached, or use after we told you to stop.

18

Limited warranty and disclaimer

18.1 Title, and no malicious code

We warrant that we have the right to grant the licence in section 4. We warrant that we have taken commercially reasonable steps not to introduce malicious code (viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or similar) into the Software as we supply it.

18.2 Paid seats — material conformity

For a paid seat, we warrant that the Software will operate in material conformity with the documentation we ship with that build, for 30 days after you first activate that seat. If it does not, and you tell us in that window, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to repair it. If we cannot repair it, your exclusive remedy for this warranty is termination of the affected seats and a refund of the amount you paid us for those seats. This warranty does not cover a trial or complimentary beta key, misuse, modification, a machine or operating system we do not support, or an assistant you attached.

Your purchase of a licence is not contingent on any future feature, and is not dependent on public comments about what we might build. A new major version is a new licence (section 13.4).

18.3 As licensed

Except for sections 18.1 and 18.2, and except for any warranty that applicable consumer law does not allow us to exclude, the Software is licensed “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that:

  • it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free;
  • the password-window filter, the activity log, Disarm, the rate limit, or any other safeguard will prevent secrets from being seen, copied, or typed;
  • an assistant you attach will act competently, or at all;
  • pairing or spanning cannot be abused if a machine is lost while still paired;
  • the Software is fit for a particular purpose you have in mind, including unattended operation of a particular desk.

Marketing, documentation, and in-app copy describe present product behaviour. They are not additional warranties.

18.4 Consumer rights that remain

If you acquired the licence as a consumer, statutory rights that cannot be excluded or limited remain. Depending on where you are, those may include rights under British Columbia’s Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act, Québec’s Consumer Protection Act (including that a merchant cannot exclude the consequences of the merchant’s own act), other Canadian provincial consumer statutes, and mandatory consumer law of the EU, the United Kingdom, or another place whose law applies to you.

Nothing in this Agreement is an unfair practice, a waiver of a right that cannot be waived, a class-proceeding waiver, or a requirement that a consumer submit a future dispute to arbitration. British Columbia law now treats some of those terms as void in a consumer contract, and as an offence to include. We do not include them.

19

Limitation of liability

19.1 What this section does not exclude

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability for:

  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • death or personal injury caused by negligence, where the applicable law does not allow that exclusion;
  • our own wilful misconduct or gross negligence (including, where Québec law applies, faute intentionnelle or faute lourde under article 1474 of the Civil Code of Québec — which also forbids excluding or limiting liability for bodily or moral injury at all);
  • any liability that applicable consumer law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

19.2 Indirect loss

Subject to section 19.1, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost data, or the cost of substitute software, even if advised of the possibility.

19.3 Direct loss

Subject to sections 19.1 and 19.2, each party’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to this Agreement is limited to the amount you paid us for the licence that is the subject of the claim.

19.4 Third-party AI and unattended use

We are not liable for what a hosted AI vendor does with screenshots or text its client sent them, or for what a local model does on your machine.

You chose a product designed to run when nobody is at the desk. Loss that follows from that design — including an assistant acting while you are away, or a person spanning from another desk — is not, without more, a defect in the Software. The Software is not licensed for use as a component of a safety-critical system (medical, nuclear, aviation, or similar) where failure could cause death, personal injury, or severe physical or environmental damage.

19.5 Allocation

The licence fee reflects this allocation of risk. The limitations in this section apply to the extent the applicable law allows, and regardless of the theory of liability.

20

Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dreamodus and its directors, officers, and employees against third-party claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising out of:

  • your use of the Software on a machine you were not authorised to operate;
  • covert monitoring or any other use that section 9 forbids;
  • your failure to tell a person who uses a machine at your desk what the Software can do, to the extent the law required you to tell them;
  • an assistant you attached, including what a hosted vendor does with screenshots or text its client sent;
  • human spanning by someone you allowed to span.

This section does not require you to indemnify us for a claim that the Software as we supplied it infringes a third-party copyright or patent (section 17), or for a claim that section 19.1 does not allow us to pass on.

21

Export and sanctions

The Software may be subject to Canadian export and sanctions law, including the Export and Import Permits Act and the Special Economic Measures Act, and to the export and sanctions law of other places where you use it. You must not export, re-export, or use the Software in violation of those laws, or make it available to a person with whom Canadian law forbids dealing.

You represent that you are not a person with whom we are forbidden to deal under Canadian sanctions law.

22

Term and termination

This Agreement starts when you accept it and continues until you stop using the Software and delete your copies, or until we terminate it.

You may terminate at any time by using Remove all my data on each copy and uninstalling, as section 15 describes.

We may terminate if you materially breach this Agreement and, where the breach can be cured, you have not cured it within 15 days of notice. We may also revoke a licence key as the commercial stop described in section 12. Revocation stops the tools and spanning on the next contact with us; it does not itself delete pairing records or uninstall the Software.

On termination the licence ends. You must stop using the Software and delete your copies. Sections that by their nature should survive — including 8, 10, 11, 16–21, 24, and 25 — survive.

23

Changes to this Agreement

We may update this Agreement for a later build. The version you accepted continues to govern the copy you already run, until you install a build that presents a new version and you accept it. We will not silently replace the terms of an installed copy.

If a change is required by law, we may post the new version at fleetmouse.com and it will apply from the date stated there, except that a consumer retains any right the applicable consumer law gives them to refuse a unilateral amendment.

A new major version is a new licence (section 13.4). Installing it is accepting the Agreement that accompanies that SKU.

24

Governing law and venue

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If you are not a consumer, the courts of British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer, you may bring a claim in British Columbia or in the courts of your place of residence, to the extent the mandatory consumer law of that place so requires. Nothing in this Agreement requires a consumer to submit a future dispute to arbitration, or stops a consumer from commencing or joining a class proceeding.

The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

25

General

This Agreement is the entire agreement between you and us about the licence to install and run the Software. It sits beside the Privacy Policy, the Terms, and the Refund Policy; it does not replace them. It supersedes prior discussions about that licence. A purchase order or similar instrument you issue does not amend it.

If a court holds a provision unenforceable, that provision is read down to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest remains in force. A failure to enforce is not a waiver.

You may not assign this Agreement except to a successor that acquires substantially all of your relevant assets and agrees in writing to be bound, and except as mandatory law requires. We may assign it in connection with a merger, reorganisation, or sale of assets.

Notices to us go to info@dreamodus.software. Notices to you go to the email on the licence record.

The Software is not directed at children. There is no age gate.

We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control (a force majeure). Neither of us is the other’s partner, agent, or joint venturer. There are no third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement. Nothing in this Agreement limits either party’s right to seek injunctive relief for a misuse of its intellectual property.

It is the express wish of the parties that this Agreement and all related documents be drawn up in English. C’est la volonté expresse des parties que la présente convention ainsi que les documents qui s’y rattachent soient rédigés en anglais.
